Why is there no mercy in bill paying? We are only given 2 weeks from the time of notice that a bill is due—until it is to be paid. If not paid—we are "late" our credit is bad, we pay an extra fee and a company that says it is FOR the customer—becomes an enemy. I have called and tried to move the due date a few days ahead to when I get paid and was told "no, we can't do that". Even the most unscrupulous credit card companies give you 3 weeks, most 28-30 days. Why is it so important to get your money in 2 weeks? Why not send you meter reader out sooner??—STETZ, SANDY

I can pay my phone bill, credit card bills, trash pick up bill and others online directly from my bank account with a couple of mouse clicks at no cost. Why can I not do the same with my Coserv bill without paying a third party $3.95? Thanks for the fine, reliable service. - HAIRE, JERRY

Why am I being charged an outrageous amount at the beginning of each year (January 2010, $416.00 and February 2011, $388.00). I seldom cook. I developed pneumonia the entire month of January, 2010, and I was not turning on the heat everyday I am a widow with a heart condition. To Whom This May Concern, I would like to propose that CoServ pay for the up keep and maintenance of a billing site instead of using BillMatrix. Bill Matrix costs each person who chooses not to send in a check every month $3.95 which comes out to $47.40 per year. This money is mine/ours and we should not be forced to pay a fee to pay our bill. Ask yourself what other companies hires a 3rd party for their customers to pay their bill online? Not many. I can personally say this is the ONLY one of 8 of my bills that require me to pay a fee. Think about it. The money that you pay in fees could by a little over a gallon of gas, for some of us half a months bill of our electricity/gas charges, go towards groceries, and a number of other things that we need that extra money for. If you figure up over the lifetime of a 30 year mortgage, for those of us who have CoServ, we would spend $1422.00 I know it does not seem like a lot but right now in our economy we all could save some money. Not to mention even if we bought checks, the cheapest ones are 23.00 a box over a course of 30 years that adds up too. Please consider not using Bill Matrix, but doing what other sites do. CoServ touts itself as a green friendly company. As I understand the CoServ concept, I am a member and as a member I attempt to adopt the same attitude. However, CoServ has adopted a policy to charge me an extra $10 a month as a co-generation charge for my wind turbine. It appears that CoServ adopts the green attitude only as a politically correct maneuver and in no way supports its members who are actively participating in a green energy endeavor. We have experienced numerous 2 to 3 second power outages over the past couple of years. Clocks need reset, home alarm sounds when power surges back on, not much fun when this happens at 2 a.m., not to mention the potential damage to electrical components in TVs, Blu-ray players, etc.. We've had CoServ employees come out to our home to try and determine the problem, but to no avail. Was told the problem could be on our side once the power enters our home, but I am relatively sure it's not because my neighbors have experienced the same problem. I was also told that a couple of years ago, about the time the problem started, that our neighborhood was being powered from a "new" sub-station. Please help my family (and neighbors) resolve this so we are not awoken in the middle of the night (or daytime) to alarms blarring. Thank you for any help you can give us to aleviate this problem. I would like your help, as I have written my Congressman (Burgess) and not gotten assistance. I dutifully have switched most of my bulbs to an energy efficient model, which will be required soon. None last as long as they are guaranteed to. The problem is that the process to get a replacement is arduous, and even more confusing when you have to match a bulb to a receipt that has numerous other bulbs on it, then mail it in with the packaging from the original purchase, etc. I would like to see a more efficient process for replacement, perhaps a process that allows consumers to return defective bulbs to the store where purchased. (in my mind, the problem is confounded by a Congressional mandate to use a product that is defective and dangerous... mercury exposure if dropped or placed into the landfill, etc.).—CAMPBELL, SCOTT
