Residential Wind Energy Rate

CoServ offers renewable energy option that gives residential members the opportunity to “Think Green” by enrolling in a Residential Wind Energy Rate.2

CoServ members have been asking for a renewable option, and we began fulfilling that request in 2009. CoServ purchases electric energy from Texas renewable wind generation resources and we retire Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) in the amount equal to your monthly kilowatt hour usage. In the simplest terms, we’re ensuring CoServ’s ability to offer you a rate that supports renewable power generation. Enroll now in this clean-energy option.

Customer Charge

$10.00 per meter

Energy Charge

May-October

$0.13464 per kWh

November-April

$0.13464 per kWh - First 700 kWh
$0.12464 per kWh - Next 300 kWh
$0.11964 per kWh - Over 1000 kWh

For details, see Section 202.16 of the Tariff. You can enroll in the program on a month-to-month basis with no minimum term, no sign-up charge, and no cancellation fee. By enrolling, you’ll be choosing to:

• reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources like natural gas and coal
• promote an environmentally-healthy world through the use of a clean resource
• drive further expansion of wind energy and other renewable sources
• decrease greenhouse gas emissions

Once you’ve enrolled, we will forward a letter of confirmation to you and a window cling for your home or vehicle to show your neighbors that you are “Thinking Green” with CoServ Electric.

If you want to generate your own wind energy instead of buying it from CoServ Electric, take the next step by reading Section 340 of our Tariff and our manual on distributed generation, defined as generating energy at/near the same place where it’s used (such as your home or business).

2Customers who choose to receive electric service pursuant to this rate schedule will not have electricity from a specific renewable resource delivered directly to their electric service location. To unsubscribe to the program, e-mail us at contact@coserv.com.
