Proof of Concept Information

Initially, the CoServ eCoGrid is being deployed as a 20,000 meter “proof of concept” (POC) with concentrations in Little Elm, Prosper, and Frisco. Meter deployment began on March 1, and equipment site surveys and data communications equipment installations began in October 2010.

Frisco member on meter installation and benefits

To find out if your home or business is included in the 20,000-meter proof of concept, log into your CoServ Online account. If you see a black meter icon next to your account number, you’re included in this initial phase. When the meter icon turns yellow, that means your neighborhood’s meter installations are scheduled and will occur in the next few months. Once your meter is installed, the icon next to your account number turns green. If there is no meter icon next to your account number, that particular account is not included in the proof of concept phase. All CoServ Electric members will eventually receive advanced meters, with additional meter deployments scheduled for 2012-2013.

Special meter installation processes will be offered for certain businesses and critical care accounts. Once the initial concept is demonstrated successfully in 2011, CoServ will deploy the remainder of the system throughout 2012 and 2013. Learn more about the project by watching our videos.
