Growth Area 8

CoServ has identified that a substation is needed to serve planned residential community development near Northlake, Argyle and south Denton. When CoServ identifies new substation needs, we contact our wholesale generation and transmission provider, Brazos Electric Cooperative, to help determine potential substation sites and to assess potential power transmission requirements to serve the proposed substation. It is likely that serving the new substation will require expanding the reach of existing transmission through a Public Utility Commission process called a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN). Learn about how you can have a voice in the CCN process once it begins.

Current Status:  No CCN has been filed at this time. No potential substation sites or transmission routes have been identified at this time. No action is needed.

#CoServ2020: Stay up to date with CoServ’s five-year plan to serve the growing demand -- online, in print and through our various social media channels.
