The CoServ Adopt-A-School program is designed to encourage and inspire educators and students at elementary schools within our service territory. Schools are evaluated by a committee every year to determine eligibility, with up to six chosen each year to participate in the program.
Our goal is to foster a deeper connection between CoServ and our community stakeholders through involvement in our schools. By collaborating with each “adopted” school, we work together to determine how to best meet their individual needs.
In the past, Adopt-A-School has supported teachers and students by:
- Expanding a robotics program with new robot kits and curriculum materials
- Providing headsets and microphones for classroom learning labs
- Building sand pits, gaga ball courts and herb/vegetable gardens for outdoor learning areas
- Remodeling a teachers’ lounge with functional furniture, eating spaces and corresponding snacks
