CORINTH, Texas – April 21, 2020 – The CoServ Electric Board of Directors has announced that the 2020 Annual Meeting will not be conducted at the University of North Texas Coliseum in Denton in July as planned. However, the Board election process is proceeding as scheduled, and CoServ does plan to conduct a version of the meeting on July 16 – the date it was originally scheduled.
Over the past few years, meeting attendance has averaged more than 4,000 people, and social distancing guidelines prompted by COVID-19 would make such a gathering impossible.
“Even if these guidelines were to be lifted in the next few weeks, CoServ will be taking this precaution to protect the health and safety of our Members and Employees,” said CoServ President/CEO Donnie Clary. “This is one of the unfortunate consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty we’re all dealing with these days.”
Mr. Clary added that details about the format of this year’s Annual Meeting will be communicated to Members in the coming weeks on CoServ’s communications channels, including CoServ.com/AnnualMeeting
“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this challenging time,” he said.
