The CoServ Charitable Foundation awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to seniors throughout our service territory, continuing the tradition amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
CCF partners with the Education Foundations in 23 school districts to award $1,000 scholarships to select seniors. CCF funds the scholarships through Operation Roundup, where CoServ Electric Members and Gas Customers have their bills rounded up to the nearest dollar. Those pennies – about $6 a year on average – add up to more than $1 million that’s returned to worthwhile causes and academic initiatives every year.
“Our current situation is making things difficult for everyone, especially our graduating seniors who have had to deal with the loss of several opportunities to make memories with teachers and friends,” said Jessica Craft, Community Relations Specialist. “We hope to make it up to these seniors by continuing to provide the $1,000 scholarship through the CoServ Charitable Foundation. It makes us proud to know we will still be helping these students continue their education and make new memories upon college graduation.”
Two seniors who received these $1,000 Education Foundation grants also received $5,000 CoServ Scholarships that were awarded in the spring. Click here for a list of the seven seniors who received the CoServ Scholarships.
