The District 4 Runoff Election result was announced at a special Member meeting streamed online today from the electric cooperative's headquarters and conducted without public attendance because of COVID-19 precautions.
None of the five candidates in District 4 received more than 50 percent of the vote. Per the CoServ Bylaws, if no candidate receives a majority of the vote in the initial election, a special Member meeting must be called for a runoff election between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes.
A record number of CoServ Members voted in this year’s CoServ Electric Board of Directors election, resulting in the re-election of two incumbents and the need for a runoff election in a third race.
