Working at CoServ is different than most call center or customer service jobs.
“We focus more on taking care of our Members and Customers so it’s not about sales and numbers like it is at a lot of call centers,” said Vic Lee, Contact Center Manager. “Do you have a heart to serve people? Are you efficient in terms of being able to carry on a conversation and input data at the same time?”
“We are a bigger cooperative but we’ve managed to capture and keep the essence of a smaller cooperative with that personal touch when it comes to Customer Care,” said Paola Vizcaino, Employee Experience Specialist. “In Human Resources, our customers are the Employees. We host appreciation events and offer other great perks. I get to see the genuine interest CoServ executives take in our Employees.”
And there’s plenty of work to do to keep up with all the growth from corporate relocations and people moving to the area from out-of-state. CoServ added more than 23,000 combined electric and gas meters in 2020 and added another 11,000 in the first six months of 2021. At the least, these new meters usually generate calls for new service connections, though more people are signing up online.
“As our meter count grows, so does our Customer Care team,” Paola said. “We want to remain as competitive as possible with our salaries and benefits so we can maintain the amazing level of service our Members and Customers expect.”
