February 2017: District Notices have mailed.
At investor-owned companies, annual meetings are exclusive occasions for shareholders only. Things are different at CoServ Electric. As a not-for-profit cooperative, CoServ is owned by the people we serve - Members like you - and we gather once a year to share a meal and information about the company.
Save the date: Our 2017 Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Night will be held June 8 at the University of North Texas Coliseum in Denton. The cover of the May Texas Co-op Power will contain the ballot for the 2017 Board of Directors election. This year, seats for Districts 3, 4 and 6 are on the ballot. Elections are held at-large and Members from all Districts can and should vote.
Here are four reasons why you should attend the Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Night!
- Get your questions answered and explore energy conservation. Visit our Energy Expo to ask specific questions about your bill or account. You can also visit with an Energy Management technician about energy-efficiency upgrades, rebates and free assessments.
- Learn the outcome of the Board of Directors election. Our service area is divided into seven districts. Every year, two of these districts are up for election. (Every third year, three districts are up for election.) You can vote via mail-in ballot (attached in your Texas Co-op Power magazine issue the month prior to when Annual Meeting is scheduled), then attend the Annual Meeting for the results.
- Talk to CoServ’s executive leadership and the board. Don’t miss the chance to shake hands with your senior leaders and board representatives. Get your questions answered by any CoServ Employee before the business meeting or after. Either way, we’ll give you a straight answer.
- Enjoy being treated like royalty. This is no run-of-the-mill get-together. We make our Annual Meeting as special as possible for our Members. Every registered Member attendee is entered in a drawing for fabulous prizes.
