THE NEXT STOP ON THE CoServ on the Road Tour 2024 is Sanger. Founded in 1886 by the railroad, the history of this town goes back more than a century, and city officials proclaim it the official Gateway to the Metroplex. Known for its small-town charm, Sanger boasts one-of-a-kind tourist destinations while promising to deliver many more.

If you enjoy outdoor activities such as wakeboarding, bass fishing, sailing, or hiking, Lake Ray Roberts is the perfect spot. Alternatively, if you’d like to slow down and do some volunteering, the Born 2 Be Therapeutic Equestrian Center offers equine therapy for children and adults with disabilities.

For those who love history, the Sanger Area Historical Society is open every Saturday. They keep history alive; it is a great way to learn how the earliest settlers lived.

The Sanger Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the family-friendly Sanger Sellabration every October with food, games, entertainment, and craft vendors. Fun Tip: Be sure to stop by the CoServ Corral while you’re there!

But there’s more to this town, and city officials say more growth is coming, making Sanger even more of a draw.

Thousands of square feet of retail – including a much-needed grocery store, new warehouses, and thousands of new single-family homes and apartments are all planned, said Raimy Hammonds, Director of Development Services.

“We have I-35 that goes right through the middle of our town, which gives us an opportunity for many different types of uses,” she said. “We have room for commercial, we have room for industrial, and we have room for residential.”

So, with the weather getting warmer, Sanger is the perfect place to spend the day outdoors and cap it off with a great meal at a local establishment!
