CoServ surprises Member with a Year of Free Electricity
Tandi Smith stepped outside her front door to find CoServ Employees, cameras and flowers just days before Christmas. The surprise visit culminated with the announcement that she’d won a Year of Free Electricity!
She was randomly selected as the grand prize winner in December, some nine months after she’d entered the drawing at the Little Elm Big Easy.
“It’s amazing. That’s awesome. I never win anything,” Tandi said. “I’m genuinely in shock. I’m a single parent so taking a bill off is fantastic. You want my car payment, too?”
Tandi, who has been a CoServ Member for four years, is the second annual winner of the “Electric Lottery,” as last year’s winner Cheryl Dixon called it.
“You’ll get a bill, but it will say zero,” said Glen Squibb, CoServ’s Director of Community Engagement. The grand prize is capped at $3,600 for all of 2024. She will still receive a normal bill from CoServ Gas, though.
Tandi said she keeps her house cool in the summer and that’s when her electricity bill is the highest.
"I've never had any issues and CoServ is very dependable. I've got two young kiddos who keep every light on in the house. This will be my favorite bill to pay!”
