CEO Corner: CoServ Rates Remain Steadfast in a Volatile Market

AT COSERV, affordability has always been one of the ways we set ourselves apart from other utilities.

But it’s easy to say that. It’s another to do it. Especially today when headlines are filled with stories about rising electricity costs.

One of the best ways to show the CoServ Advantage in action is the graph on this page. It shows our electricity rates for 2025 compared to the average retail electric provider in Texas on 12-month plans using 2,000 kilowatt-hours.

The difference is striking.

CoServ Members who use 2,000 kWh are saving an average of about $58 a month, or almost $700 a year, compared to their counterparts in the deregulated market.

But the differences don’t stop there:

  • These rates are for everybody. Whether you live in a new home or a farm that’s been on our lines for decades, our rates are fair and consistent for all.
  • Pricing is clear and transparent. Our rates don’t have any fine print or gimmicks. CoServ has several of rate options meant to fit different lifestyles. Just ask a Customer Care Specialist which one might be best for you, or use our Rate Calculator tool to analyze it for yourself.
  • No shareholders or dividends. Any margins, or profits, that we have are allocated to the Members and, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, they are retired in the form of Capital Credits.

In keeping with our commitment to transparency, this summer, we will do a deep dive on the CoServ electric bill, how we keep costs down, and the factors that may affect it.

The cost of infrastructure and materials are rising across the board, and we aren’t immune to that. While we can’t predict the future, CoServ Members can trust that we will handle any changes to our cost structure the same way we always do: with honest transparency.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you for 89 years!

CoServ Rates Stay Consistent

Not only does CoServ work hard to ensure our Members’ rates stay competitive, but we also keep our rates stable, as shown here in this 13-month graph.
