As COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, CoServ Employees surprised the scholarship recipients in person at school in April and May. It’s another way that CoServ supports the communities we serve through academic initiatives.

CoServ distributes approximately $280,000 to education foundations in 23 school districts to support teacher-initiated grants each year. These funds come directly from CoServ Members and Customers who participate in Operation Roundup, where their bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar.

But more than that, when a bucket is hanging 50 feet in the air next to a power line, the lineman is putting his life in the hands of that truck – and the Fleet Services Department that maintains it.

There’s no better time to remind the public about the importance of calling 811 than on National Safe Digging Day on August 11, or 8-11. The call is free and so are the various utilities who will come out to mark electric, communication, natural gas/petroleum, irrigation, potable water and sewer and drain lines on your property so you or a contractor can dig safely.

Hot, humid June could lead to more electricity usage

After a soggy May, June had far less rainfall and plenty of hot, humid days.   

CoServ Members should expect June electricity consumption to be higher than May because air condition usage more than doubled thanks to the hotter temperatures. Comparing this year to last June, electricity consumption – driven mostly by air condition usage – should be about the same.
