PeakTime Perks: Tesla Battery Program

CoServ has partnered with Tesla to bring you effortless savings all year long with a $30 bill credit for each eligible battery you enroll in the program. You can earn up to $360 annually for each eligible battery by allowing CoServ to manage your Tesla Battery during peak demand times when we call an event. How does it work?

1. Verify & Enroll

VERIFY & ENROLL

Verify your battery is eligible using the "Who's eligible" list below. Then, use your Tesla app to enroll. For step-by-step instructions, click here.

2. Charge

CHARGE

Your battery will continue to operate normally until CoServ calls an event. During these events, your system will use a portion* of its stored energy to power your home, shifting the load from the grid to your battery and helping reduce strain on the electric system.

3. Earn

EARN

Sit back and enjoy monthly bill credits; we'll do the rest. You can earn up to $360 a year per eligible battery.

*We will always leave 20% as a backup reserve on each battery.

How to Enroll

  1. Open the Tesla app and select the Virtual Power Plant section on the Powerwall home screen.

  2. Ensure that you have your CoServ bill with you so you can retrieve your account information.

  3. Enter your information so that CoServ can verify you as a current customer, including name, account number as stated on your CoServ utility bill, email, and phone number.

  4. Review the program information and select 'Agree and Apply.'

Your application will be reviewed by CoServ. You will be notified once it has been approved through the Tesla app.

How does the PeakTime Perks: Tesla Battery Program work?

 

    • This incentive program rewards members with a monthly bill credit of $30 or $360 a year for each eligible battery for allowing CoServ to utilize stored energy on their Tesla batteries to reduce energy use and lower grid costs.
    • For enrolled Members, CoServ will call events, up to 125 throughout the year, to utilize stored energy on their Tesla battery to help reduce energy use and lower grid costs. Note: We will always leave 20% as a backup reserve on each battery.
    • Events can last 2 hours and run annually from January 1 through December 31.

As CoServ's service area grows, more demand is added to the electric grid. By creating programs like Rush Hour Rewards and the PeakTime Perks: Tesla Battery Program, we help lower demand and keep reserves on the grid steady. This also helps reduce our transmission costs for the following year, saving you more money on your electricity. Learn more about peak events.

What if I don't have a Tesla Battery?

  • Tesla Batteries can be purchased through Tesla and authorized retailers.

  • CoServ does not provide or sell Tesla Batteries and we do not offer rebates.

  • At this time, only supported Tesla Batteries are eligible for the CoServ PeakTime Perks Program.
