Excess Flow Valves (EFV)

Since CoServ Gas was established in 1998, we have been committed to providing our Customers with safe and reliable natural gas service.  Our system was developed using modern materials and best practices, including the use of excess flow valves (EFVs).

EFVs greatly reduce the flow of gas if the service line is cut, broken, or damaged. CoServ Gas installs EFVs on all new construction, which includes nearly all single-family residential service lines.

Federal regulations require us to notify Customers of their right to request an EFV. However, CoServ Gas has taken a proactive approach to installing EFVs and/or manual shut-off valves on all existing service lines at no cost to our Customers. CoServ Gas is also committed to maintaining and replacing equipment, as necessary, at no charge.

The installation of EFVs on existing CoServ Gas Customers is substantially completed.
