Electric Rate Programs and Tariff

The deregulated areas of Texas cover about 85 percent of the state. So where does this leave the 15 percent of the state that is exempt from this system for buying and selling electricity? In the case of CoServ, an electric cooperative, the answer is: In good hands.

Our Members deserve reasonable and stable electric rates. Conversely, the mission of Retail Electric Providers (REPs) in the deregulated market is to generate investor profit. CoServ has no shareholders, and our responsibility is to our Members. Our Standard Residential Rate is less than most 12-month fixed prices that REPs offer.

Graph compiled on November 4, 2022. Data retrieved from the Public Utility Commission for REP average 12-month contract and compared to CoServ’s standard residential rate for the same time period based on 2,000 kWh.

CoServ also has two optional rate programs—Summer Savings and Solar Savings—that offer flexibility and choices. See if one of these fits your lifestyle or keep the Standard Residential Rate. All of these rate programs can be combined with Budget Billing to keep your bill consistent in the peak summer and winter months.

Standard Residential Rate

Summer Savings

Perfect for:

Everyone. This is why the standard residential rate is offered to all CoServ Members—without gimmicks, hidden fees or expiration dates.

Perfect for:

Someone who can shift electricity usage away from the peak hours of 3 to 8 p.m. from May through October.

Solar Savings

Budget Billing

Perfect for:

Someone who wants 100 percent renewable energy without the upfront cost or long-term commitment of installing solar panels, or who physically can’t install solar panels on their home.

Perfect for:

Someone who wants a consistent bill every month with no surprises in the peak summer or winter months.
